Long awaited Autumn!

I think every single blogger/YouTuber that I follow has an undying love for Autumn (or fall if you're from America.) And I am unashamedly the same. There is just something so welcoming about it. The fresh crisp smell in the air, the leaves turning a beautiful golden/red colour and the comfort in sitting inside reading a good book or watching a comforting film.
For me the Harry Potter films are always so much better watching them when its cold and windy outside.
Another great thing about Autumn is obviously the fashion and I am loving the burnt orange colour that seems to be everywhere. I got this turtle neck jumper from Peacocks.

This colour seems to really bring out the warmth in your face and I think it would suit any skin tone.

Here I am pairing with my ripped skinny jeans from F&F and leather jacket from Asos and when I'm feeling more fancy I'll throw on my hat from H&M.

I'm trying to get more into photography recently and the changing of seasons is really inspiring me to whip out the camera.

These were captured early in the morning. Theres something quite eery about thick fog.

This photo was taken about two years ago but I still love it.

Exploring the local countryside.

Recently me and my boyfriend decided to explore one of the local country parks near where we live.

I would have loved to ride a bike around to get to further areas but as we were only walking and it was a surprisingly really hot day for the end of September we didn't go far into the countryside. But the little we did see was very pretty, you forget about the town that's just five minutes down the road.

My monkey man.

I'm glad we went to visit while summer still lingered, with all the foliage bursting at the seams.
Though I think this place would just look as pretty with snow covering the trees and a frost hovering above the lake.
We will just have to come back in December, when hopefully a bit of snow will fall.

Chill day

I was having one of those days the other day where you don't want to wear anything fancy or anything too restrictive and you just want to lounge about in complete comfort. I thought the few bits I picked up from Primark the other week would do just that.

I think this stripy vest top from Primark might have just made it up to my favourites. The cut of the vest is what I like most, the high neck and the slight curve as it sits around your hips. I find it very flattering on me.
I found this grey jumper on one of those massive  mounds of clothes that are always strewn about in Primark and it has become my go to jumper. It is so soft and lightweight, easy to wear for summer when it gets a bit chilly in the evenings or during the day because lets face it, is summer ever going to turn up?

Succumbing to the almighty iPhone

Now I've never been opposed to the iPhone but I have always seen them as over priced and not worth the money.
BUT my Nokia Lumia was due for an upgrade and it was slowly dying on me so I found the iPhone5s on Tesco mobile for £17 a month which I thought wasn't a bad price, only £7 more than my contract now. So yesterday I made my way down to Tesco and walked out with a spanking new phone.

I'm slowly getting to grips with it and thought I would share some of the photos I have been taking with it today.

This little bit of green haven is my mum and dads doing, there own little allotment in the back garden and this isn't even all of it, there are chickens and ducks that I couldn't fit in the picture. We've got so far strawberries and courgettes coming out of our ears. Soon we'll have the runner beans taking over.

This little spot is on the side of my dads shed and I walked past today and couldn't not take a picture, I mean look how cute it looks with the flowers and vintage tap.

And this is the big open field that our garden backs on to. Last year it was full of mama pigs and their little piglets but at the moment we think the farmers are growing wheat.

Now this isn't to do with the iPhone but on the 1st my boyfriend bought us tickets for a birthday present to go see James Bay live! I didn't get many pictures but  if you haven't seen him live and are a fan of his music I would definitely recommend it, his voice sounds even better in person then on his album. His support act, Joseph, 3 sisters from Oregon I think they said were amazing too, got there album on my new phone!

Easter 2016

Spring has definitely sprung in our neck of the woods and the sun is trying it's hardest to stay out today.

So I decided to showcase my new vest top I got from New Look. The bold print is not something I would usually gravitate towards but my boyfriend persuaded me and in the end bought it for me! No.1 boyfriend. Though it may be just a little bit too chilly to showcase it on it's own I think it is going to get a lot of wear in the summer.

Though having it peak out under a scarf or a big chunky knit cardigan really livens up the whole outfit in a subtle soft way.

And I saved the best picture for last. My mum is very gifted when it comes to baking and this lemon cake is no exception. I can't wait to have a big slice with a nice cup of tea to go with it. Mmmm.

My new floppy hat.

I think I might be a bit late to the big floppy hat trend but I feel late is better than never.

I got this little gem for sale at Peacocks for a meager £3 and seeing as I love the colour burgundy (matching boots) I couldn't really say no.

I've  been meaning to get out and take some pictures for quite a while and I thought my hat would give me the perfect excuse. And of course old Ollie dog had to get in.

The weather cannot decide what it wants to do at the moment. Yesterday I woke up to a frosty morning and it turned into a lovely sunny day, though not the warmest. And today it is very chilly and overcast so I layered up!

Jacket - New Look, I've had it for years.

Sick with the flu?

So my ever so lovely nephew came over the other week with a cold that has hit nearly everyone like a ton of rocks. First it was me and my dad that suffered the first wave then my brother (my nephews dad) then my mum and then finally my boyfriend.

I thought I was eventually getting over it considering it has been over a week since it first punched me in the sinuses but its managed to claw its way back to my throat leaving it all dry, scratchy and sore.

I thought i'd give you a few pointers which have helped me relieve the pain and feel somewhat better...

1. Eat Bananas! They will give you a boost of energy and restore lost potassium in your body.

2.  Add citrus fruits such as oranges and lemon to water. My boyfriend added a little bit of  honey to it as well and all of it combined helped soothe my scratchy throat
.
3. Vitman C tablets if you don't want to always eat the fruits. One of these added and dissolved in a glass of water will hopefully lead to a speedy recovery as it boosts the immune system.

4. If you have a scratchy throat one option that helped came from my boyfriends mum, warmed milk with a little bit of melted butter mixed with honey. This was surprisingly very nice and soothed my sore throat but I would suggest making maybe half a mugs worth as it can taste quite sickly and sweet after a while.

5. Take a shower or a very relaxing bath. It is so easy if you have taken the day off work or school to just sit in your dressing gown all day watching tv but I find this can sometimes make you feel worse. Getting all cleaned and pampering yourself (if you can summon the energy to do so) can really help you feel refreshed and slightly better.

6. Last but not least, get some fresh air. Sitting indoors all day really made me feel even more stuffy and constricted. You don't have to go on a walk or anything too strenuous, but throwing on a coat, a hat, and scarf and just sitting in your garden breathing in fresh air goes a long way.

So these are just a few suggestions apart from the obvious cold and flu medicines to hopefully perk you up a bit if you are suffering like half of my family.

Listening to a soft easy song while taking that relaxing bath will do wonders as well, I suggest any Bon Iver song, this one is called Holocene.
